Who practices yoga and fitness?
Everyone can benefit from doing fitness. Yoga and fitness classes are not about competing or winning they are about enjoying the moment and laughing. Just work to the best of your ability, don't force the postures.
What do I need to wear to a fitness class?
Just don't try to do stretches right after a big meal, in uncomfortable clothes, or your shoes. It's great to practice yoga in bare feet!
Where can I do yoga/fitness stretching?
You can practice anywhere. All you need is a clean surface with enough space to move around in. You can practice with a mat, on carpet or wood floors or even try outside on the grass.
By using The Adventures of Super Stretch™ physical activity becomes a fun, creative opportunity. The Adventures of Super Stretch and exercise helps build strong bones and muscles in children, and it helps them sleep well at night and stay alert during the day. Healthy habits established early help adolescents maintain healthy weight through the hormonal changes and social influences of adolescence. And it has been proven that active children are more likely to become fit adults.
Benefits of Fitness for Children:
Children today lead a more sedentary lifestyle than ever before. Over the past 30 years, this inactivity has caused the rate of child obesity to more than triple, leading to a dramatic increase in many long-term health problems, including the number of children with type 2 diabetes, a disease once limited to inactive, overweight adults.
- Exercise is an essential aspect enabling development for children from 2 to 5 years old.
- Physical fitness and movement opens channels of communication between left and right hemispheres in the brain and assist in developing brain functions: balance, eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills.
- There is a great connection between the mind and body — the immediate encouragement of simple physical successes can be extremely rewarding to young children and often provides an ideal balance to their normal daily activities.
- Physical fitness assists in developing: Flexibility, strength, body awareness, communication, concentration, breathing, non-competitive movement, self-esteem, muscles and bone structure.
- Children love to play inspiring games, sing music and do movement activities. Academic concepts are also intertwined into The Adventures of Super Stretch program — sing-along, ABCs, numbers, shapes, colors, and spatial relationships.
- The Adventures of Super Stretch program is extremely interactive and helps develop good social skills including sharing, partner activities and cooperation building a life-long love of fitness.
